My United Way Voice – United Way

Having huge success with our music marketing videos “Change Starts Here” and “United We’re Strong” for the incredible team at the United Way of the Alberta Capital Region, we had a little idea to put the call out to the community. Instead of creating songs with the organization’s key messaging and releasing that out to the community, what if we put the call out to the community of singers, rappers and spoken word artists to share their own voice against poverty? With that, in 2014, the annual singing contest called My United Way Voice was born. Culminating in the event management of Red Tie Gala 2018, the Top 3 artists had the opportunity to showcase in front of a sold-out crowd of seven hundred community leaders. The grand prize 2018 winner was Soap Box Duo, and they received $5,000 cash sponsored by Presenting Sponsor TD, $5,000 Demo Recording Deal with PlanIt Sound, and a brand new car, sponsored by our generous friends at Sherwood Honda.

Creating one-of-a-kind live entertainment showcases in helping achieve sold-out crowds at Red Tie Gala annually

Creating professional performance opportunities for talented local artists to showcase their music, while doing so within a meaningful platform as they share their voice against poverty

Production of high quality videos generating hundreds of thousands of impressions online, used to tell the stories of the Top 3 artists at Red Tie Gala, as well as creation of promo videos to help promote the contest

Production of high quality customized website to effectively manage daily voter and artist online traffic, resulting in over one hundred thousand website impressions in a single contest

Top 3 final voting online and onsite at Red Tie Gala generated over 20,000 votes and impressions in a single day
